EITM Certification Scholarships
An Opportunity to Attend the ICPSR Summer Program and EITM Tuition-Free
Over the past decade, hundreds of graduate students in political science have participated in EITM summer institutes. These institutes are held at universities across the country, and improve participants' ability to address a wide range of important research questions. Participants emerge from EITM summer institutes better able to leverage interactions between theoretical models that clarify relevant logical relationships and empirical endeavors that clarify critical implications of observation and data. read more

How to Apply
To apply, please send the following materials to eitm@eitminstitute.org by 5:00pm Eastern Time on February 1, 2013.
- An official transcript showing classes taken and available grades from your graduate education. Undergraduate transcripts will not be accepted.
- An essay of 250-1000 words explaining how receipt of an EITM Certification Scholarship and participation in EITM Summer Institutes can benefit your research agenda. The essay must name the specific classes you will take at the ICPSR Summer Program and relate the content of these classes to the research objectives stated in the essay.
- Letters of recommendation from three faculty members with whom you have taken classes or with whom you have engaged in research-related activities.
- A copy of your C.V.
Application materials should be sent via e-mail to eitm@eitminstitute.org. Please attach the essay, transcripts, and C.V. as pdf files.
Do not attach letters of recommendation to your application. Instead, please ask letter writers to send their recommendations directly to EITM at eitm@eitminstitute.org.
Every year, we will select a minimum of five students to receive EITM Certification Scholarships. These scholarships will cover tuition for up to two four-week sessions of the next ICPSR Summer Program. This scholarship covers tuition only and is paid directly to ICPSR by EITM. Scholarship recipients or their home institutions are responsible for all other costs (course materials, lodging, meals, transportation) associated with attending the ICPSR Summer Program.
